A new adventure begins…
It’s been on our minds for so long, that it feels weird having made a decision pretty much overnight, and seeing how fast things are moving now that we’ve decided to go for it and move to France.
Having been born in France, and spent the vast majority of my childhood there, going back at some point, especially with my own children, has always been on my mind. We are lucky that my family still mostly lives in France, so over the last decade Barry and I have had most of our holidays there too.
I haven’t succeeded in bringing up the children bilingual, so the next step was to actually move to France where they would pick up the language in no time.
However there was also a lot more to it in our decision… One of the main reasons is that I miss having space around me. A slightly bigger house, a bigger garden for the kids to play in and make up adventures. Space around us in the countryside. Somewhere to clear my mind. Space to breathe. To simply be.
We knew that we wouldn’t be in a position to get such a space in the UK in line with our work and earnings. And also, well I think we’ve been falling more and more in love with France with each trip. Our last trip especially, truly made us think: what if we actually did it? How about we go for it and see what happens!
I’ll be posting our progress, the ups and downs, the details of our journey here. So whether you’re already living in France, are considering moving, or perhaps you simply love a new adventure, I look forward to having you as part of our journey.
